The Water Ministry, Hope Leadership Foundation, and Walking on Water are joining together again for an incredible volunteer opportunity! We need your help!! Come give inner-city kids an opportunity to surf! We need 8 total volunteers. Needs include leading games on beach, helping with lunch preparation, and becoming whatever is needed! Why: This is a 'reverse mission trip' of sorts. It's an opportunity to have fun and serve the kids. However, the primary goal for this event is several fold - the La Jolla HS surf team will be teaching the surfing to the kids. Rick is their coach and this is a great cultivating and planting event. Get's the conversation started of WHY we serve. Because Jesus did! Second, this is the PERFECT opportunity to bring someone on your Christmas List! Have then come out and serve alongside us!! The Hope Leadership Foundation is a Christian organization and last year Bryan Jennings shared the Gospel!

What to expect: Typically, there are needs at 3-4 stations.

Surf supervisor - this person will supervise the surf instructors and watch for safety issues in the water. Must have a good knowledge of ocean safety and be able to multi-task. Will not be teaching surfing.
Beach cheer person - when the kids catch a wave, to cheer them on from the beach
Wetsuit management & sizing - size the kids up for an appropriate size wetsuit
Grass/beach games - there will be 2-3 groups (we can't have all the kids surf at once). Thus we will play games with them during the different rotation

Most important thing: We want to become whatever is needed! No task is to small. See you Saturday! Bring a friend.
