PL- Sisters In Christ Evening Bible Study

Sisters in Christ - A special time for women of the Rock to worship, pray, study the Word of God, share testimonies and enjoy fellowship in a small group setting in order to gain spiritual and practical guidance for everyday living. We meet every Wednesday from September 9th through November 11th, ending with a potluck on November 18th in room 232 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please note that the building is air conditioned so you may want to bring a sweater or jacket. Feel free to invite a friend.

This session Karen will be teaching on "Refined by Fire" 1Peter 1:6-7 "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

We will be offering childcare for children 6 months up to age 12 but you will need to register online beforehand. This is mandatory. We need to know how many children will be coming so we have enough workers. For questions regarding KidsCare, please contact Christina Paiva at: Christina.paiva@sdrock.com.  Women's ministry is having to now get our own volunteers to help with childcare.  We need women who would be willing to volunteer at least one Wednesday between Sept. 9 - Nov. 18 from about 6:15 - 8:40 PM.  There is a  ministry application and background check that you will need to fill out.  If you are interested in volunteering with childcare for Sisters please email:   women@sdrock.com.

Sisters In Christ includes worship, bible studies, testimonies or ministry speakers, classes (both spiritual and practical) and fellowship every week.

Passage Through Grief led by Janet Muniz A passage through grief offers healing opportunities for various forms of loss, whether it's death, divorce, break-up, abortion, etc., through journaling.   You will need a book for this class which you may purchase at class from Janet for $7.

strengTHENrestore  led by Marsha Lapid

Marsha will lead you through a series of dynamic stretching and strengthening exercises. She will also help you gain proprioception, which is your body awareness in space, by assisting you in discovering body blindspots that may disguise themselves as aches and pains, using the Roll Model Massage Therapy Balls. If you would like to pray for yourself and others for healing, join us by diving a little deeper into the “fuel” of this mind-body-spirit class, NIV scripture 1 Peter 5:10

Dress in workout clothes and bring your own exercise mat. Loose, billowy clothing will not work as well when using the massage therapy balls. Balls will be provided during class.

GIRLFRIENDS: Daughters, Wives, Mothers & Sisters led by Priscilla Diaz

Esther, a woman who was not only beautiful but courageous and obedient. In this class we will be reading, having open discussion

and applying Esther's (and other women in the Bible) characteristics to our own lives.  There will be no homework and bringing your Bible is highly encouraged.  We will be uplifting and encouraging one another.  We will be a community of GIRLFRIENDS: daughters, wives, mothers & sisters.

PURE GIRLS ROCK led by Carrie Ottalagano

 Every week we will discuss how purity goes beyond sexuality, it's not just the physical act, it's about the condition of our heart.  Purity is a spiritual, emotional, mental & physical battle.  During this class you will be challenged to live for God in all areas of your life.  This class isn't just for single women.....it's for all women!  In order to truly live for God, you need to have a place where you can unload your guilt and shame.  God loves us so much!  When we begin to grasp the depth of His love, temporary pleasures of this world are no longer appealing. 

The book we are using is 'Sex and the Single Christian Girl' by Marion Jordan Ellis.
