About

Who: Bilingual or English Speaking Volunteers What: Help keep families connected during difficult times of separation. Work with incarcerated persons in County Detention Facilities (both Adult and Juvenile) as well as at R.J. Donovan State prison by helping to teach them the importance of reading aloud to children, how to choose appropriate books, and how to personalize the read aloud experience for their children. At the end of the workshop, a recording will be made of the participant reading aloud to the important child in their life. The DVD, along with the book, will be sent to the child's place of residence.

Previously incarcerated volunteers must have been off probation/parole for three years.
