We meet at 10:30AM near the corner of 6th Street and Grape Street in Balboa Park in downtown San Diego. We usually grill hot dogs or serve a main course meal, along with fruit, chips, cookies, juice and water. We provide donated or purchased clothes, shoes, backpacks, sleeping bags, blankets, and other essential items.
Before the food and fellowship starts, we enjoy a time of praise and worship. Following the worship service, we have a devotional time in the Word. Various speakers come and teach the homeless how to have a relationship with Christ and how to grow in the understanding and wisdom of the Lord.
Church Without Walls is "Family-Friendly". Feel free to bring your entire family, regardless of age.
There is no need to sign up or call/email ahead of time. Just show up. We will be there RAIN or SHINE!
Right now we need volunteers to work the food/water table, the referral table, and to talk and pray with the homeless.
We are also looking for Church Without Walls Coordinators. If you are interested in this position, contact Marleea Gerfen.
We hope to see you soon!
