To be a large, fun and safe event that ministers to others via the common bond of motorcycling while raising funds for foster youth. To reach out to the bike lovers that need to be renewed in Christ.

About the cause...

The Rock n Ride is an outreach event whose main focus is San Diego Foster Youth. 2009 is the second of what we hope will be an annual event to raise much needed awareness and funds for the Foster Youth. In 2008 we had 90 bikes and 120 participants (all paid registration fees) come out to ride and in the end were able to donate over $4,000.00 to Step Up San Diego foster youth mentor program, via the Rock Church San Diego. Many people and businesses helped make this possible and we are very grateful. Donated raffle items and or services are always a hit and also bring in higher revenues for the youth!

On October 3, 2009 the Rock Church is holding the second annual Rock n Ride. Our goal this year by teaming up with Step Up is to have 500 bikes actually ride in this event! If none of these riders have passengers we will raise in excess of $12,000.00 in application fees alone! Keep in mind that 100% of revenue above operating cost goes directly to the Youth Program! We have a great leadership team prepared to handle whatever God brings our way. We will have an organized ride touring beautiful San Diego. We will draw lots of attention as we ride!

For the conclusion of the ride we have plans to have lots of foster youth in attendance, and to also have food, fun, families, games, raffle items and music. (Note: Foster Youth cannot legally be identified as such at the event). This location will be in the South Promenade in Rosecrans.

The Step Up program at the Rock Church has mentored to well over 200 foster youth in San Diego and beyond, but they are forced to work with very limited resources. Our ultimate goal is to help more foster youth with very basic needs through this event that the state does not provide like year books, senior pictures, athletic fees as well as basic clothing and specific hygiene products etc.

The Rock is a 501(c) (3) corporation. Our EIN number is 33-0888725. Certain donations are eligible for a company name or logo on printed materials like tee shirts etc. All donations are tax deductible and donors will receive a letter for tax purposes.
