San Jacinto Peak: Advance Hike

Hike begins: 8:30 am

Approximate time: 10hours

Strenuous. Suitable for moderate and advance hikers.

San Jacinto Peak/Upper Aerial Tramway Station/Hidden Lake is perfect for experience hikers who are looking to explore. Starting from Humber Park near the mountain of Idyllwild we’ll climb up the Devil’s Slide Trailhead to Saddle Junction, turn north up the Pacific Coast Trail passing through Wellman’s Divide and up to San Jacinto Peak (10,834’). After a short lunch break at the peak with 360 degree views, we’ll drop down cross-country (no trail) to the upper Aerial Tramway station before climbing up to Hidden Lake and then looping back a different way through some fern fields before finishing via the Devil’s Slide trail again.

(Note: a shorter 16 mile / 4,800’ option is also available if you want less).
