The purpose of The Rock Island Praise & Dance Ministry is to let our light shine and share the gospel to the Polynesian song and dance community to perpetuate the Creator of all creation, Jesus Christ, through fellowship and our common passion for Polynesian song and dance.

The mission of The Rock Island Praise & Dance Ministry is to be the radiant light for Christ to Polynesian musicians and dancers and to teach all who want to learn Polynesian song and dance. It is to allow Christians and non-Christians an opportunity to share their common interest, learn God’s word, build relationships through learning and equip each other to share God’s love to unsaved musicians and dancers throughout the San Diego community.

The ministry has been involved in the Pacific Islander Community and has brought to the ministry many men, women and children from different "halaus" (hula schools) coming together to serve the Lord with a common love and interest for the Polynesian cultures. The ministry is being used to bring men, women and children that are believers, non-believers, and of different denominations to learn Polynesian dance and the meaning of movements with respect and honor for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
