Salt and Light
Biblical Citizenship
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its
saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light
of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people
light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand,
and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your
light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise
your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:1316, New International Version
As
citizens, we must decide whose standards and values we want to live by.
The standards of men continue to change unpredictably based on public
opinion. The standards of God will remain unchanging, unbiased, and
benevolent. God has communicated these non-negotiable moral standards
clearly in the Bible. It should not be forgotten that our Founding
Fathers knew this as they drafted laws and policies firmly rooted in
tried-and-true Biblical principles.
What we do:
- Pray for our state, nation, world and elected officials
- Inspire, equip, and empower the church body to defend and advance Christian life, marriage and family values
- Engage the body to take action on issues in order to fulfill the mission
- Update Pastoral staff on issues and legislation for united action between Pastoral staff, leaders and body
- Help change secular worldview Christians to committed Christians with a biblical worldview who can reach people for Christ using educational resource material
- Develop Values Voters who will defend this country and uphold its values and use their influence in local communities, culture and government
- Raise up future local community leaders that support and uphold Biblical standards in government
