Impact195 Global Update - August 2012

by Ali Kaun | August 27, 2012

Haiti

This September, 7 Rock Ambassadors (5 returning, 2 new i195 Graduates) will be heading back to Jeremie, Haiti for phase 2 of work there. Plans for ministry will include the starting of a six-month discipleship school there for believers in Haiti that are serious about going deeper in the Word and learning what it means to live out their faith. Haitians graduating from that program will have an opportunity to launch a church-planting movement and will be better equipped to serve those in need.

Please pray for God to provide all the tuition needs for Haitians attending this program and for traveling mercies as they live out what they are learning in the nearby countryside. Pray God would do amazing things through them as they learn to  share the truth of Jesus by bringing hope to every street and every person they come across.

Africa

Our team in Africa continues to make progress in telling the stories of the Bible orally to locals in their villages. They chose "the way" as a redemptive theme for their people group and will be carefully sharing with them how Jesus is the only way to have a right relationship with God and cannot be earned through rituals, traditions or works. So far, they have been able to share twenty-three stories in the Word that reveal God's heart to the people group entrusted to them!

Please pray for them as they embark on this new season in the ministry and continue on in the story crafting process. Pray for amazing relationships with their translators. Pray that the Holy Spirit will empower them to do what He has called them to accomplish there, for continued joy, and a continued protection over their health as two team members continue their full recovery from an episode of malaria.

Asia

great news! One of our couple teams in Asia celebrated the birth of Violet, their precious baby girl! This couple has been experiencing all the new adjustments of being a mom and dad and are excited to see how God will use this new life in the context of their ministry. Two i195 Graduates also headed to Asia in August to do long term work there as Rock Ambassadors.

Please pray for the health of baby Violet. She has had some digestion issues and is currently being monitored by doctors there. Please also pray for our newest Rock Ambassadors in the field as they adjust to their new home, meet new friends and begin the patient work of relational evangelism to all God brings to them.

Philippines

Rock Ambassadors have connected with two missionaries in the Philippines that have come alongside their work at the Global Impact Center there. Every Wednesday night, these two men have been leading a men's Bible study that has begun to thrive. In addition, the team has had weekly opportunities to lead Bible studies to a group of students at a local high school. Many of those high school students are now holding their own Bible studies and mentoring groups on their campus with local students getting saved daily!

Please pray for the house rebuilding projects our Rock Ambassadors have initiated, that people would receive and believe in God's love as He meets their physical needs through the the team. Pray for their Bible Studies, computer classes and for God to abundantly bless the children's classes at the Global Impact Center. Pray also for the physical health of the team and those in the community they are serving in. It's mosquito season and many locals are subject to Dingy Fever. When left untreated, it can be fatal.

Japan

One of our Rock Ambassador teams in Japan had multiple opportunities to speak at different ministries and churches in August, and even officiated a wedding! Weekly evangelistic efforts have led to the distribution of Bibles, numerous seeds being planted and three more people added to the kingdom in the last few days! Another one of our team members in Japan is 6 1/2 months pregnant! Members of her house church are interested in translating Miles McPherson's book, Do Something; Make Your Life Count, into Japanese!

Please pray for all of those who have come to faith in Japan – that they would grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus! Pray also for a smooth visa renewal process for Micah and Alycia, for a continued healthy pregnancy for Liz and for the translation of Miles' book to be expedited and accurate.
