Sisters in Christ - A special time for women of the Rock to worship, pray, study the Word of God, share testimonies and enjoy fellowship in a small group setting in order to gain spiritual and practical guidance for everyday living. We meet every Wednesday from March 13th - May 1st (with a special evening on March 6th and a potluck on May 8th) in room 232 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please note that the building is air conditioned so you may want to bring a sweater or jacket. Feel free to invite a friend.

We will be offering childcare for children up to age 12 but you will need to register online beforehand. This is mandatory. We need to know how many children will be coming so we have enough workers. For questions regarding childcare, please contact Lindsay Ebert at: lindsay.ebert@sdrock.com

Sisters In Christ includes worship, bible studies, testimonies or ministry speakers, classes (both spiritual and practical) and fellowship every week.

Crazy Love led by Maricris Paloutzian and Hazel Mageno

Maricris___Hazel_1.JPG

Crazy Love is a book that will challenge you to plunge deeper into a love relationship with Jesus in your daily living. Francis Chan will inspire you to live your life for God and fall madly in love with our creator. He takes you through a journey of developing a deeper relationship and truly living for Him. Christianity is not only about going to church, singing songs, reading your bible, and praying. It is about falling madly in love with our creator and living a life that is unexplainable to others. It is about filling that place in your heart with Jesus and being so in love with Him that you don't need anything from the world to substitute what he can give you. There will be two books, $8 each sold in class.

Being a single mom might be a different path than the one you would have chosen, but you can have an amazing single mom life!” This class is not only for single moms, but for you if you: know a single mom, are a pregnant single mom-to-be, are a married mom who does it all, are separated, going through or contemplating divorce, a military wife who may be married but feel like a single mom when your husband is deployed, or are a widow mom. It covers topics such as loneliness, decision-making, guilt, exhaustion, boundaries, handling finances, dating, loving your kids, having fun, and being a “groovy” mom.

Putting on a Gentle and Quiet Spirit led by Heidi SturchHeidi_K_1.jpg

This class is based on becoming a "1 Peter Woman, A Woman After God's Own Heart". Elizabeth George takes readers through a thought-provoking study of Peter's teachings on handling trials and persecutions, including: suffering for doing good; understanding the mysteries of God; and fanning the flame of faith. The special "heart response" sections offer readers suggestions to help them apply biblical truths to their lives and focus on the amazing glory God promises.

We will be using her book "Putting on a gentle and quiet spirit", by Elizabeth George based on first Peter

Women of the Bible led by Melissa Holt and Rosa Martinez

Melissa_1.jpgAs a group, we will be reading Ann Spangler and Jean E. Syswerda's book, "Women of the Bible," which is a one-year devotional study of ordinary, yet, as we will learn, remarkable women in scripture. Each week focuses on one of 52 women whose struggles to live with faith and courage are not unlike our own. We will get to know each of these women, and reflect on similar situations in our own lives and then see how God acted in surprising and wonderful ways to draw them- and us- to Him. As a group, we will discuss each of these women, and find ways to take the lessons we learn each week and use them in our own, everyday lives. This will be a fresh, new perspective on reading the bible, while being able to grow in each of our own lives and relationships with God.

Pearls led by Angela Vereen

Romans 12:2 do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of Angela_Vereen_1.JPGyour mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Such as a grain of sand that is formed to a precious pearl, so much more are you in God's hands. Precious and of great value, tragic past events in your life (rape, abuse, and kind of addiction). We are going to take an encouraging Bible verse and study it and apply it to our lives and share our testimonies, and as sisters help heal our wounds through the Word.

“You are not alone.” Book – Your Bible, a notebook will be given out in class.
