Join the Hiking Ministry family from the Rock Church for our final Sunset Hike on the last day of summer. It will be a fun time of fellowship while enjoying the beauty of God's creation! We will hike the less-traveled backside of Cowles Mountain via the Barker Way Trail. This trail will meet up with the main trail, where we will climb the last .80 miles to the summit.
Following a break at the top, we will reverse course and hopefully view a great sunset. This hike offers a more relaxed experience climbing Cowles Mountain than the main trail. Dogs (on leash) are permitted. This hike may not be suitable for kids.
I'm rating this hike as moderate-difficult. There is elevation gain of approximately 911 feet and switchbacks to climb. The main trail portion is heavily-used and rocky. Please self-evaluate your fitness and hiking levels before attempting this hike.
"Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:34.
More information on the hike can be found here. (We will not be hiking on the fire road).
