Kairos - God's Special Time

MATTHEW 25:36  -  I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU CAME TO VISIT ME.

The Kairos Prison Ministry is one of the most successful of all the available faith-based programs.  It is an Ecumenical Christian ministry founded in 1977 in Florida, and is now international in scope.   In the Kairos program, inmate candidates are introduced to Christianity through a weekend "short course" in Christian living.  The weekend teams then continue to meet with the weekend graduates monthly for their support in this new way of living.  Twice yearly two-day retreats reinforce the message.   The Kairos activities for the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJDCF) located southeast of San Diego are administered by the San Diego Kairos Advisory Council.  Although part of the larger Golden State Kairos of California, the San Diego organization is responsible for its own schedule of programs at RJDCF and for its own fundraising.

HOW WE SERVE:

  • Twice yearly, we partner with Kairos Prison Ministry San Diego and provide home-baked cookies, letters of encouragement written by our Youth and placemats colored by our Rock Kids for their Kairos - Inside events in April and October of each year.
  • Attend closing ceremonies.
