This training is certified by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Church members, chaplains, counselors, mental health professionals, and pastors all benefit from these practical guidelines and strategies for people-care in times of need.
This is a certified course registered with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (www.icisf.org). The Group Crisis Intervention training presents the core elements of a comprehensive crisis intervention curriculum. The three-day course prepares participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention and chaplaincy services, including pre- and post-incident crisis education, significant other support services, on-scene support services, crisis intervention for individuals after large-scale traumatic incidents, small-group defusings, and the group intervention known as Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. The Group Crisis Intervention course specifically prepares participants to provide all of these interventions after traumatic incidents, wherein a group or community of people have been impacted. The Group Crisis Intervention class and receipt of a certificate indicating full attendance qualifies as a CORE class in ICISF’s Certificate of Specialized Training Program.
