Torrey Pines Sunset Hike

Join the Rock Church Hiking Ministry for an awesome sunset hike as we journey to Torrey Pines State Beach!

We will meet at the North Beach Restrooms, 1800 McGonigle Rd., San Diego 92014 at 5 p.m. You can pay to park in the lot or park for free on Carmel Valley Rd. Total hiking distance is about 5 miles. Sunset will take place at 7:39 p.m. and the tide will be low.

This hike is moderate. Please self-evaluate your fitness and hiking levels before attempting. The hike is kid friendly, but may be too long. You are free to hike at your own pace. However, if you choose not to keep up with the group, it is your responsibility to complete the hike.

Dogs and pets are NOT permitted at Torrey Pines State Beach.

• Difficulty: Moderate
• Distance: 5.0 miles (round trip)
• Hiking Time: approximately 2.5 hours
• Dogs are not permitted
• Weather: Hot, but cools quickly in the late afternoon, breezy
• Restrooms are available at the starting point and on the hike

What to bring?

• Good running/hiking shoes
• Comfortable clothing, wear layers as it will cool down
• Hat or Visor
• Hiking Poles (optional)
• Flashlight or headlamp as it will get dark
• Sunscreen
• Water (at least 1 liter recommended)
• Snacks
