Walker Preserve Sunday Stroll

The Rock Church Hiking Ministry's first event for 2026 takes us to Walker Preserve in Santee. It will be a fun time of walking, fellowship and worship while enjoying God's creation!The trailhead is located on Magnolia Ave., just north of the San Diego River. Parking is available on the street. There is a portapotty at the trailhead.

This is an easy hike, with minimal elevation gain. Please self-evaluate your hiking and fitness levels before attempting this journey.

You must sign the Rock Church waiver form to participate in this hike. Forms will be available at the event.

Itinerary

•  Difficulty: Easy
•  Highlight: Views of the San Diego River
•  Distance: 3-3.5 miles (round trip)
•  Elevation Gain: 55 feet
•  Hiking Time: approximately 2 hours
•  Dogs: Permitted (on leash) 
•  Weather: Hike may be cancelled if it rains.
•  Restrooms: Portapotty available at the trailhead

 
 What to bring?

• Good running or hiking shoes
• Comfortable clothing, bring layers as the temperature will change
• Hat or visor
• Sunscreen
• Hiking Poles (optional)
• Water (at least 1 liter recommended)
• Snacks and electrolytes
