About

Noble Canyon is San Diego County's premiere mountain biking trail. The trail starts at the top of the Laguna Mountains and drops nearly 2,500 feet to Pine Valley. Noble Canyon is a difficult trail and only skilled XC riders are invited. Additionally, because you are in remote area of the back country, you should only do this ride with a partner. Nobel Canyon can be accessed several ways and miles can be added depending on what trails you ride to the trailhead. We do this trail as a Shuttle Ride first riding the Laguna Loop section for several miles continuing with the Nobel Canyon section.

This is one of Southern California's BEST rides and for ADVANCED XC RIDERS ONLY. The distance will be roughly 20 miles - almost ALL SINGLETRACK. Since this is a shuttle, we eliminate a lot of climbing, but there STILL IS A GOOD AMOUNT with around 2,300' of gain. We will meet at the Pine Valley shopping mall parking lot and shuttle to the top of Mt Laguna for the beginning of the Laguna Loop Section. From here there is climbing on fireroad which quickly becomes singletrack to the Nobel Canyon Trailhead. Nobel and Laguna Loop are trails with everything, Alpine Fields, Alpine Forests, cliffs, canyons, river crossings, boulder fields, fast curvy singletrack etc.

Please note, this is a TECHNICAL, REMOTE trail, with a good amount of climbing. If you overestimate your abilities, you'll be 'at best' exhausted by the time you roll out. For those hardcore core guys/ladies, this is YOUR ride!

OUR Definition of an Advanced XC rider is: a rider who can comfortably do a 20-30 mile ride with lots of climbing. Climbing can be technical and continuous for several miles. Descents can also be technical with various challenging sections. The Advanced XC rider is a person who can ride at a steady, brisk, pace for hours at a time with little or no rest.

NOTE Helmets are MANDATORY on all RockMTB rides NO EXCEPTIONS.
This includes EVERYONE! The person who left their helmet on the table at home... Please dont put us in the unfortunate position of not letting you ride.  We care deeply about everyones health and have seen too many examples of why helmets are needed.

What to bring:
1. Helmet - mandatory.
2. National Forest Pass, can be purchased at the store.
3. Food! This is a long hard ride and you will need the carbohydrates.
4. Water, at least 80 oz.
5. Appropriate clothes. The weather can be hot, perfect or cold - it all depends.
6. Extra tubes.
