MLK FREEDOM HIKE

Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day with the Never Knew A Father Love ministry and Hiking with SPF ministry. We will be honoring pastor Martin Luther King Jr. and how his faith contributed to our freedom today.

Hike begins at 10am

Approximate time: 2 hours

Easy. Suitable for beginners and moderate hikers. 

Distance: 3 miles

Children welcome & Dogs allowed

What to bring?

-Good tennis/running/hiking shoes

-Comfortable clothing

-Sunscreen/Sunglasses

-Water or Vitamin water

DIRECTIONS:

From Interstate 8 - Take 8 to the Mission Gorge/Fairmount exit. Turn north onto Mission Gorge Road. Proceed down Mission Gorge Road 6.5 miles to the northern (Kumeyaay Lake) entrance to Father Junipero Serra Trail. Turn left onto Father Junipero Serra Trail. The entrance to Old Mission Dam is 0.7 miles down Father Junipero Serra Trail on the right.

From Route 52 - Take 52 to the Mast Blvd. exit in Santee. Driving east, turn left onto Mast Blvd., go under the freeway to the first traffic signal (West Hills Parkway) and turn right. Driving west, turn right onto Mast Blvd. and right onto West Hills Parkway. Take West Hills Parkway to Mission Gorge Road and turn right. Proceed down Mission Gorge Road 0.2 miles and turn right onto Father Junipero Serra Trail. The entrance to Old Mission Dam is 0.7 miles down Father Junipero Serra Trail on the right.

From Route 125
- Take 125 north to Mission Gorge Road and turn left. Proceed down Mission Gorge Road 0.2 miles and turn right onto Father Junipero Serra Trail. The entrance to Old Mission Dam is 0.7 miles down Father Junipero Serra Trail on the right.
