About this Series

“Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1-4). The disciples had watched Jesus cast out demons, heal the sick, and walk on water, but prayer was the practice they wanted to learn. Why? It seems they understood that prayer is central to a relationship with God. more...

At Rock Church, prayer is our priority. That means we don’t view it as a wish list, a checklist, or a to-do list. Prayer is an opportunity for us to connect with God and actively participate in His redemptive work!

Even so, praying can sometimes feel… difficult. Whether it's because of disappointment, distraction, or disinterest, prayer can sometimes feel like more of a chore than a life-giving and relational dialogue with God!

And this is exactly why we need to learn how to pray!

In the 3-week series, “Direct Messages,” we take time to explore why we pray, how we pray, the transformation that occurs in our lives when we pray, and what happens after we pray.

In a world that’s flooded with pings, notifications, and endless chatter, we are invited to pause and engage in ongoing conversation with the One who knows us and cares for us. Let’s make prayer our first response, not our last resort. Prayer is our direct line with God, and He is always speaking!
