Marriage is a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His church. The body of believers that make up the Church are collectively called bride of Christ. Every marriage has difficult moments or difficult dynamics. When two sinful people are trying to create a life together, they must submit to God’s command to love each another as God has loved us—selflessly (1 John 3:16). Our attempts to follow God’s commands in our own strength tend to end in failure, and that failure tends to make the believer more aware of his dependence on God and more open to the Spirit’s work in him, which tends to result in godliness. And godliness helps us to follow God’s commands. So, marriage is very helpful for the one trying to live a godly life; it helps to scrub the heart clean of selfishness and other impurities.
After 21 years of Christ pouring His literal Life into us, we have been asked, by CHRIST, to pour that same Life into others. So come July 13, 2013, at 4 p.m. and enjoy the pouring out of God’s Riches in the form of Romantic Love expressed in the Renewing of God given Vows between couples who are still saying “I DO” after many years of Marriage.
We will also lead others into a Purposeful Purity Pledge – Single men and women. So please go out ahead of time and purchase a Sacred token to memorialize this Pledge (e.g. Purity Ring, Bookmark or Bracelet, etc., engraved with whatever God gives you) and bring it to the event. Feel free to invite any and all accountability partners that God has given you to share your Purity Pledge with. We look forward to seeing you all dressed up.
