Rock Academy Baseball Makes History with CIF Championship Victory
In a season defined by grit, teamwork, and record-breaking performances, the Rock Academy baseball team has etched its name into the history books with a remarkable 2025 campaign, culminating in a CIF Division V-AA Championship—the first CIF title in school history for any boys' sport.
Rock Academy Head Coach, Christian Benson shares, “God gave us this season as an opportunity; we made our best attempt to honor this opportunity every moment we had. Under our game hats you’ll find the verse Galatians 6:9. That was deliberately placed to remind ourselves to continue to work hard through all moments. We get seen for this moment but we point all attention to God for this opportunity.”
The Warriors finished the season with an outstanding 22-3 overall record, the best in Rock Academy history, and a long list of accolades that showcase the team’s dominance both in league play and postseason competition.
This unforgettable season included:
Lions Tournament Champions – the first time Rock Academy has claimed this prestigious title.
Ocean League Champions – the school's first league championship since 2012.
CIF Division V-AA Champions – marking the first CIF title for Rock Academy baseball and any boys' program in school history.
Individually, several players earned top honors for their exceptional performances:
Max Gimbel – Named Ocean League Player of the Year, and one of three 1st Team All-League selections.
Ethan Daldo and Quentin Uhland – Also earned 1st Team All-League honors.
Jace Daldo, Connor Prunk, Logan Saathoff, and Alec Endicott – Recognized as 2nd Team All-League selections.
The Rock Academy community celebrates not just a championship season, but the heart, resilience, and unity of a team that redefined what’s possible.
Rock Academy Athletic Director, Aaron Anderson reflects, “Before the season started, I caught part of a meeting with Coach Benson and Max Gimbel, where they discussed the goals for the year. It’s incredible to see what they talked about that day come to fruition.
As I watched the season unfold and saw the team’s steady improvement, it became clear that this group was something special. The bond they formed gave them the strength to achieve their goals—winning the league and capturing the CIF 5AA Division Championship. It was a truly special moment to watch them embrace and celebrate the milestones they had set out to achieve.”
