Mission Trip to the Philippines

Prisoners of Hope is an International Prison Ministry based out of the Rock Church in San Diego. We are dedicated to bringing Pervasive Hope to a hurting world, one person at a time. This December a group of 15 will be heading to Manila, Philippines. Our mission is to set the captives free with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  

While in the Philippines, we are planning to do daily outreaches to prisoners, orphans, street kids, and sexual abuse victims. We will also provide food and clothing to needy families.  We want to invite you to consider partnering with us and sharing in the fruit of all God is doing and going to do on this trip as we seek and serve Him.

This trip is a big commitment but we know God is calling us to go. Our main goal for our trip is to implement a discipleship curriculum in the prisons that we have developed and translated to Taglish, a mix of the local language and English. We still need help translating! Our hope is that this curriculum will continue to minister in the jails long after we are gone. Since most of the inmates have no healthcare whatsoever, we are also bringing 2 Registered nurses and basic medical supplies so that we can provide simple medical examinations and minor treatments, eg. vitamins, topical ointments, Band-Aids, aspirin, cold medications, and in some cases, antibiotics.

Another area that has captured our hearts is a population of children labeled “street kids.” Over 1.5 million children live on the streets of the Philippines abandoned or put out by their parents. They do what they have to survive and to support their younger siblings. We will bless some of these children with food, clothing, Bibles, and prayer. We will not be doing this alone. We have the support and covering of Christ Commissioned Fellowship (CCF) and Kids International Ministries (KIM). Both of these organizations are very well respected.

We have a short window of time to raise the funds needed to cover the cost of transportation, food, lodging and required ministry and medical supplies which will include a donation to each institution we visit in the Philippines. We are being creative and working hard to come up with the funds we can raise on our own and we are trusting God for the rest.  If you feel led to join us ion this trip of a lifetime, please contact prisonersofhope@sdrock.com.
