Chollas Lake Community Clean Up- Volunteer Registration

Join the Rock Church Litter Removal Ministry on Saturday, October 12th from 830AM to 200PM for our first community clean up event! We will be removing litter within the boundaries of the Chollas Lake and its surrounding parks/trails. Chollas Lake is in need of some volunteer attention! If you would like for us to provide you with a letter confirming your community service hours please indicate that on the volunteer registration form.

Clean Up Schedule

*CHECK IN at 830AM to receive your clean-up materials, and clean up assignment. All volunteers must meet at the Gloria’s Mesa Park Parking Lot for check-in. 6350 College Grove Dr. The clean-up project lasts from 900am to 1200PM

*Volunteer Appreciation Lunch from 1200pm to 130pm

PARKING

Please follow the signs posted along the street. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE! Neither the Rock Church, God’s Clean Earth, nor the City of San Diego is liable for any lost or stolen property. There will be parking available at the Gloria’s Mesa Park Parking Lot.

FOOD

Lunch will be provided and water/snack bars will be available throughout the morning. We also recommend that you bring your own source of water for back up. Our volunteer lunch will be held at a reserved location at Chollas Lake immediately following our clean-up efforts. 

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING

Closed toed shoes, hat, long-sleeved shirt and long pants are strongly recommended. Please wear sunscreen and bug repellent!

WEATHER

The weather, most likely, will be warm and beautiful, so please make every effort to use sunscreen and wear a hat or visor. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated! There will be enough water onsite for two to three bottles per volunteer, but you may want to plan ahead and bring your own as well. 

TOOLS

All clean-up materials will be provided by the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.

IMPORTANT

Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult and have the Parental Permission Form/Liability Waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian to submit at check-in, if not attending with parent/legal guardian. Please download the Parental Permission Form/Liability Waiver, print, sign, and submit upon event day check-in. NO MINOR WILL BE PERMITTED TO VOLUNTEER WITHOUT THIS FORM UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN!
