Psychological First Aid Course

This class will provide you with Psychological First Aid (PFA) training, a technique designed to reduce the occurrence of post-traumatic stress disorder in survivors of trauma. In addition, you will receive coaching in the delivery of PFA for those who serve as chaplains, first responders, military, or crisis intervention workers. This course will be very interactive and Dr. Megan Wilson, a licensed clinical psychologist, will provide the instruction. The course will also feature intervention techniques form the role of a chaplain featured in the 2013 film "Gimme Shelter."

Instructor: Dr. Megan Wilson PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and serves as a Rock Community Chaplain through the Rock Church in San Diego. She travels internationally to assist victims of human trafficking with both rescue and restoration, and serves as the supervising psychologist for a safe house in Tijuana. She has previously worked as psychologist with the child trauma center at Rady Children's Hospital, as well as completing her residency in child trauma in Los Angeles. She began her crisis intervention work in 2007 as a volunteer psychologist serving at a crisis center for exploited sex workers rescued from the streets.
