GOT GOWNS???
SHARE MINISTRY CAN HELP YOU BE A FAIRY GOD MOTHER!
Every year about this time -- prom time -- the dedicated women of Soroptimist International of Valley de Oro get going on a cherished service project they call Operation Fairy Godmother. This handful of women in East County go out of their way to make dreams come true for teenage girls, all over the county.
"Operation Fairy Godmother" tries to make young girls' dreams come true by sending them off to the ball in a beautiful gown.
The NEEDS are for dresses in good condition, clean and ready to wear. And accessories -- the shoes and jewelry and handbags that complete an outfit -- are always welcome.
For the past few years, the group has worked tirelessly to gather donated dresses and pass them on to girls who need them.
If you have a gently used, clean formal dress you'd like to donate so a young girl can feel as beautiful in it as you once did, (along with any jewelry or other accessories to complete the outfit) PLEASE bring it to the Rock Church and place it on the rack by the SHARE MINISTRY donation bin. We will get the gowns to the Fairy God Mothers!
