paradeThousands of people will be on floats and in bands with tens of thousands more cheering them on as the 2016 Encinitas Holiday Parade rolls along Coast Highway 101 on Saturday, December 3rd.

The parade begins at 5:30 PM. It is preceded by a 5:00 PM tree lighting ceremony with a brief appearance by Santa at the Lumberyard (near Starbucks coffee).

The parade theme is “Encinitas86!” Encinitas celebrates 30 years since becoming a City in 1986.  Top Gun was #1 and the mullet, big hair and shoulder pads were indeed the rage. In 1986, five unique communities turned into one great City, Encinitas. Show us your version of 1986 with your parade entry! We want to see your creativity and also invite you to show it off and share it with everyone using the hashtags #Encinitas86, EncinitasLife and #EncinitasHolidayParade.

Interested in having an entry in the Parade?  Download the 2016 Encinitas Holiday Parade Entry Application.

Parking Shuttles

Don't stress over finding a parking space downtown, take advantage of our FREE parking shuttles that run from Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas off of Santa Fe Drive (just look for the signs pointing you there) or from they YMCA/Ecke Sports Park parking lot on Saxony Road.  Both shuttles start running at 4pm and go until 8:30pm.  The ADA accessible bus runs from the Scripps location.  Shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes and will drop you off at the NCTD bus station on Vulcan Avenue, just a half block from the Parade route.
