This course covers the history of chaplaincy ministry, the role and duties of chaplains, and the person of the chaplain. We will look at the resources and training available for growing as effective chaplains. The primary resource for this training will be The Work of the Chaplain by Naomi K. Paget and Janet R. McCormack. It is the focus of this class to provide an appropriate and timely response to community members in the aftermath of a crisis or personal tragedy.
