We meet every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night
in downtown San Diego on Elm Street between 3rd and 4th in the parking
lot behind First Presbyterian Church. This night is used as a time for
street evangelism to the homeless segment of society. Presently we are
still in need of volunteers, money, clothes, pre-made food (ready to
eat no prep. req./Jack in the Box the Box $.99 Tacos,
Burgers), sleeping bags/blankets, socks (highly requested nice thick
white socks), beanies and gloves (to keep heads and hands warm).
We as a ministry would like to continue our Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday night outreach, while at the same time being
able to expand to serving Wednesday and Friday nights. We want to
become a known presence of devoted Christ-followers, serving the
homeless population of downtown San Diego every Monday through Friday
night; and doing it through the giving of food, gospel tracts/pocket
bibles, water, blankets, and quality time with people who are often
overlooked.
We must all remember that while we were still sinners Christ Jesus died for us, sacrificing himself unto death on a cross that we might have life. We must learn to love in sincerity and authenticity (charity- giving without expecting in return, so why not give to those who have nothing to give back tangibly to us and then test our faith, hope, and love.
