Join the Rock Church of Point Loma Hiking ministry family as we hike Sunset Trail to the Big Laguna Loop in the Laguna Mountains. We will stop to do a short devo halfway through the hike and enjoy the beauty of God's creation! You will get the opportunity to meet new people to do life with, grow with, explore with and love Jesus with! Carpooling is strongly recommended since it takes about 50 - 60 minutes to get there.
Meet at Trailhead at 8:15am
Hike starts at 8:30am
Carpool meets at 6:45am
Carpool Leaves at 7:00am
Difficulty: Moderate
Highlight: Colorful autumn vegetation
Distance: 7 miles (loop)
Elevation Gain/Loss: 700'/700'
Hiking Time: approximately 4 hours
Weather: Sunny and up to mid 70s
What to bring?
Good tennis/running/hiking shoes
Comfortable clothing and layers ***The hike will start off cool so be sure to bring layers***

Directions:
From downtown take I-8E for 42 miles and take exit 47 for Sunrise Scenic Highway.
Turn left onto Sunrise Highway and continue north for 5.5 miles uphill. At or near the Meadows Information Station just past mile marker 19, park along the highway shoulder, which is wide enough to accommodate parking. Park on the left or right side of the road. The trailhead will be on the left side (west) of the highway.
No Adventure pass needed when parking on the south end of Sunrise Scenic Highway.
Carpool meeting location: Living Spaces Parking Lot 8730 Rio San Diego Dr. San Diego, CA 92108. This lot is directly next to the previous carpool location. Please look for Rock Church Hiking Ministry signs. Many of us will meet at the carpool location and caravan to Pine Valley together. But feel free to meet us at the trailhead, too.
