Iron Mountain Full Moon Night Hike

Join the Rock Church of Point Loma Hiking ministry family as we hike Iron Mountain under the full moon. We will stop to do a short devo at the top and enjoy the beautiful sunset. The light of the moon will guide us back down the mountain. Corinthians 4:6 -11 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Meet at the trailhead at 4:30pm
Hike begins at 4:45pm

Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: 5.5 miles (round trip)
Hiking Time: approximately 3 hours
Not suitable for dogs or children
Weather: Gets cool after the sun sets. 60s – upper 50s
Hike will be canceled if it rain

What to bring?
- Good tennis/running/hiking shoes
- Comfortable warm clothing (layers)
- Lightweight gloves if your hands get cold easily
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Water
- Cell phone (flashlight can be used from your phone)

DIRECTIONS:
Iron Mountain Address: Intersection of Hwy 67 & Poway Rd. Poway, CA 92074

From Interstate 15, take either Scripps Poway Parkway (faster road) or Poway Road (slower road due to traffic) east to Highway 67. The Iron Mountain Trailhead is located immediately south of the intersection of Poway Road and Highway 67. Scripps Poway Parkway intersects Highway 67 about 2 miles south of the trailhead. Turn left and proceed to the Hwy 67/Poway Road intersection. The parking lot for Iron Mountain will be on your right. If the parking lot is full, there is plenty of parking on the side of Hwy 67.
