Do Something Church Race

The highlight of Summer is Ours will be the Do Something Church Race on July 31st. This will be a Rock Church spin-off of the Amazing Race, complete with all kinds of challenges, competitions, and opportunities to serve others.

ABOUT THE RACE

The Do Something Church Race is about more than just community service, and it is more than just an opportunity to play (though there will be lots of that, trust us!). The Do Something Church Race is about this DO SOMETHING generation bringing the best of who they are to bless the surrounding community - while having a blast in the process! 

6th-12th graders are invited to join the Rock Church on July 31st as churches from all over San Diego County come together at Liberty Station for the Do Something Church Race! The first 150 students who sign up with receive FREE Summer Is Ours Merch.

. In partnership with other non-profit organizations, the service projects include:

• Assembling art kits on behalf of The New Children’s Museum that will be distributed to social organizations around San Diego 
• Pulling weeds, spreading mulch, and cleaning up trash in NTC park alongside the Point Loma Green Team
• Providing aging out foster youth with a “welcome basket” for their first kitchen, in partnership with Just In Time and the Rock Foster Youth Mentor Ministry.

Get ready for some extreme challenges, such as:

• A gladiator joust, rock climbing competitions, obstacle courses, and basketball challenges
• Hot and cold: A spicy food and ice bucket challenge
• How well you can handle a board? Find out in this paddle boarding and a tarp surfing activity!
• Test your feet with the lego walk challenge, and see if you can go the distance!

DO SOMETHING EPIC

Our goal is that this race would become an annual pillar of giving back to the city of San Diego, led by students from every school and every corner of San Diego County. 

Join us on July 31st to see who will win the DO SOMETHING CHURCH RACE!  

Not a student, but want to be part of the fun? You are invited to VOLUNTEER!

Do you have a heart to see students encounter the transformative love of God? The Do Something Church Race is your opportunity to pour into the next generation, creating space for them to form deep connections with one another and grow in spiritual maturity as they serve the community.

Times: 9:00 am (Check-In). Kick off is at 10am, and the race starts at 11am. The finale will be around 4:30pm, though the ending time may be subject to sligth change.
