November 25th - Two start locations!
Mission Trails Visitor Center - Arrive 8:15, Ride 8:30
Claremont Mesa Trailhead - Arrive 8:45, Ride 9:00

This is one of my favorite local rides. It has a ton of climbing, lots of great singletrack (good technical sections), is local, has a huge climbing bypass for those adverse to spitting up a lung, and only takes a bit over an
hour (when pushing it).

The location is Mission Trails Regional Park with the majority being in Tierrasanta. This ride will have TWO START LOCATIONS!!!!

For those of you who love to climb, we are meeting at the Mission Trails Visitor Center at 8:15. For those who wish to bypass the elevator ride up called 'Jackson', you will meet us at the bridge at the end of Claremont Mesa Blvd. If you are not a good climber, PLEASE meet us at Claremont Mesa! I promise there will be more than enough climbing from this location, plus you get to sleep in 1/2 hour longer!

Starting from Mission Trails, we take fun singletrack to the San Diego River. After crossing the river, it is a 15-25 minute climb up Jackson. We will continue to the Claremont Mesa entrance and meet everyone else at the bridge.

For those of you WISE enough to meet us at the bridge, we will continue along the West Rim Trail. Eventually it drops into the valley going up to 52. From here there is more climbing, technical sections and lots of great trail. We continue back into the valley and eventually have a very hard climb out the S's. The Devo will be at the bottom of the S's. Great spot to relax, fellowship, and prepare yourself for the climb. At the top of the S's, we split up with riders going back to Claremont Mesa and the others going back to the Visitor Center.

I realize I'm repeating myself, but please do not ride the first part if you are not a good climber. Jackson is nothing more than a steep, long, boring fireroad. For those of us who enjoy the burn, it is also one of the best parts. If that does not make sense, meet us at the Claremont Mesa Bridge!

What to bring:1. Bike
2. Helmet - mandatory
3. Water - a liter is good.
4. Food such as power gel.
5. Gloves.
6. Tubes
7. Prayer

Directions:From I-15 (for the smart people looking to avoid the FIRST LONG climb):

Take I-15 and exit Claremont Mesa Blvd East. Go to very end and park. Ride over to the bridge and wait for us.

From I-8 (for the climbers):

Take I-8 and exit Mission Gorge Road going North. At the Friars Road/Mission Gorge Intersection (under a mile), stay right remaining on Mission Gorge. Take this for a few miles. Immediately past Jackson, take a left onto Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center. Park along the road 'outside' the visitor and look for the RockMTB banner.

If you need help email us (where you are coming from) and Ill get you there.
