Cowles Mountain Summer Sunset Hike
Big Rock Trailhead

Join the Rock Church Hiking Ministry family as we journey to Cowles Mountain for our third Summer Sunset Hike! We’ll be starting from the Big Rock Trail in Santee and taking a different way to the peak. We'll traverse the Big Rock Trail to the Barker Service Road and up to the summit. There, we'll do worship and enjoy the 360-degree views. A beautiful sunset at 6:50 p.m. will highlight our return trip. This hike is difficult. Please self-evaluate your fitness and hiking levels before attempting this hike.

•  Difficulty: Difficult with some steep inclines and can be slippery in places

•  Weather: Hike may be cancelled if it rains.

What to bring?

• Good running or hiking shoes, trail is rocky in places
• Comfortable clothing, bring layers as it will get cool
• Hat or visor
• Hiking Poles (optional)
• Water (at least 1 liter recommended)
• Snacks 
• Headlamp or flashlight as it will get dark
