The Rock Church Hiking Ministry's is celebrating National Trails Day June 7 with an adventure to El Monte County Park and the Historic Flume Trail. This trail is not to be confused with the Helix Flume Trail, which is nearby.
The trailhead is located at the west end of the park. There is a free parking lot across from the trailhead on El Monte Rd. This lot can be easily missed. See map below. El Monte County Park doesn't open until 9:30 a.m. Bathrooms may not be available before the hike, but will be open afterwards.
This is a difficult hike, with an elevation gain of 1,292 feet. You are welcome to go at your own pace, however, there will be no sweeper and if you are separated from the group, it will be your responsibility to complete the journey.
Please self-evaluate your hiking and fitness levels before attempting this journey.
You must sign the Rock Church waiver form to participate in this hike. Forms will be available at the event.
