
Join the Rock Church Hiking Ministry Community for an adventure to beautiful Volcan Mountain in Julian. This hike will be 5.5 miles, with an elevation gain of 1,270 feet. Altitude at the peak is 5,353 feet. Part of the uphill hike will be on the Five Oaks Trail, the remainder will be on the fire road.
After a hydration break and worship at the summit, we will reverse course and take the fire road all the way back to the trailhead. Dogs (on leash) are permitted. There are porta-potties at the trailhead, but no water.
Meet at the oval wooden Volcan Mountain sign at 8:30 a.m. Hike starts promptly at 8:45 a.m. Please account for a one-hour drive to the trailhead. Street parking is available.
This hike is rated as difficult. There is elevation gain of approximately 1,270 feet. Altitude at the peak is 5,353 feet. Please self-evaluate your fitness and hiking levels before attempting this hike.
You are welcome to hike at your own pace. However, if you cannot keep up with the group, it will be your responsibility to complete the hike.
You must sign the Rock Church waiver form to participate in this adventure.
