COURSE CONTENT:

This advanced chaplaincy course is entitled “Advanced Crisis Support – Chaplaincy Ministry” and may be thought of as the combination of Biblical resources with traditional techniques of crisis intervention and trauma recovery. This course builds on the foundations of the Rock Church Basic Chaplaincy class. More specific advanced concepts and specific field applications where ministry crisis intervention is applied will be covered. Upon completion of this course, participants will be
able to: Describe the stages of spiritual development; Understand Theodicy; Discuss the principles of spiritual first-aid; and basic suicide intervention strategies. No Prerequisites for this course. 

Note: You do not need to complete the Basic Chaplaincy course to take the Advanced Chaplaincy course. 

Completion of Advanced Crisis Support – Chaplaincy Ministry and receipt of a certificate indicating full attendance (10 Contact Hours), continues the education to qualify to apply to be a Rock Community Chaplain.

Day 1 - (6:00PM-9:15PM)

• Define terms and concepts 
• Stages of spiritual development 
• Principles of spiritual first-aid 
• Psychological and spiritual 
• Family systems in conflict

Day 2 - (6:00PM-9:15PM)

• Stress and personal perspective integration 
• Theodicy 
• Incident Management System and other emergency disaster response systems intervention 
• Death Notifications

Day 3 - (8:30AM-5:00PM)

• Suicide intervention and postvention 
• Support services in loss and bereavement 
• Self-care enrichment

REGISTRATION & COST:

• $25 Per Person for Paid Registrations on or before April 20th.
• $40 Per Person for Registrations after April 20th.
