About
A journey from mourning to healing, peace and joy...
A
Grief Recovery Small Group is for anyone who is grieving the loss of a
loved one. There are several different ways we can experience loss that
causes us to grieve, and they are not all from death. The goal of this
group is to reshape lives, convert struggles into prayer and courage,
and to allow God to show each person how to look to Him to fill their
days and nights with His peace, joy, and healing.
Through
this group many have discovered that what Barbara Baumgardner says is
true Suppression [of grief] leads to momentary relief and permanent
pain. Feeling your experience leads to momentary pain and permanent
relief.
For the Lord comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13b
This
small group meets for 7 weeks and goes through the instructional
material in the book A Passage Through Grief by Barbara Baumgardner.
Each week we discuss the book content and have time for personal
sharing. The personal sharing time allows each group member time to
talk about their feelings and experiences. Much healing occurs when we
have the opportunity to share our grief experiences and listen to what
God is doing in others lives. We come to understand that we are not
alone and there are many others who are going through similar
experiences. The small group really becomes a family.
If
you're grieving the loss of someone, will you allow yourself to heal by
seeking guidance from the Lord and the body of Christ through a Grief
Recovery Small Group?
