On Saturday, April 10, 2010 the Rock Church will deploy approximately 3,500 volunteers to various areas in the City of San Diego to bless our communities.
Our eager volunteers will be in Balboa Park, working hard in areas like Morley Field, the Starlight Bowl, and the Laurel Street Bridge. We also will be in Encanto and Chollas Creek in southeastern San Diego. In all these neighborhoods we will be landscaping, painting, collecting trash, and otherwise cleaning things up!
The 2nd Annual Community Clean-Up, sponsored by the Rock Church, is being planned in partnership with the office of San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders. The Rock has committed 200,000 volunteers hours in 2010 to the City of San Diego. Last year we promised the Mayor 100,000 hours, and exceeded that by giving the city 166,251 hours, valued at $2.6 million.
