Many of you guys have been itching for a good hard climb, the San Juan trail is one the best in Southern California. Located in Southern Orange County in national forest land, we'll meet at the lower trailhead. The climb is long, arduous and only for the true XC hardcore climber.
The trail is fast, steep and loose in some sections next to open cliffs with a lot of switchbacks. Approximately 2700' up, and then 2700' down.
NOTE: IN THE PAST RIDERS HAVE ATTENDED WITH BEGINNER AND LOW INTERMEDIATE SKILLS. THEY STRUGGLED, PUT THEMSELVES IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AND HELD THE GROUP BACK. IF IT IS DETERMINED ANYONE HAS BELOW STRONG INTERMEDIATE SKILLS, THEY WILL BE ASKED TO REMAIN AT THE CAR. We hate doing this, but as leaders, we have to limit this ride to ONLY qualified riders. Please do not put us in this situation.
Check some pics from a previous ride.
