We will be doing a ride this Saturday affectionately know by the South Bay peeps as the "Tour de Otay Lakes".  This is a fantastic, scenic ride that can be enjoyed by the entire family.  Don't hesitate to drag your husband, wives, kids, or neighbors out on this one.

From the parking area, we will ride the street for just a short distance and then drop down into the lake area, west side. There is virtually no elevation change on the west side so it makes the ride relatively easy.   We'll head south of about a mile along the waterfront, go past the U.S. Olympic Training Center, and down to the boat launch area.  From there, we'll turn around and come back up the same way but continue along the shoreline to the far north end of the lake.  This is about 4-5 miles at this point.  There is an area here where we can stop for the devotional.

The nice thing about this ride is that if you've had enough at this point, it's just a short 1 mile ride back to the parking area and you can call it a day.  If there's still a little more pep in your pedals, we'll continue on the the east side of the lake and follow it south to what looks like a little Tiki Hut.  This will be our turn around point.  We'll ride back on a different trail, up a few minor elevation changes (nothing too strenuous) to the north side of the lake then back around down the west side and return to the parking area.

Total ride distance is about 10 miles but like I said, we have the 5 mile 'mini version' that is just as fun.  Here's what the ride looks like:
