About

This ride will be pending rain.  If it is raining, there will be no ride.

Crest Ridge
Strong Intermediate, Advanced
March 17th
Arrive at 8:30, Ride at 8:45

Come and ride El Cajon's best kept secret and stay for a potluck BBQ at Mike's house. (Please RSVP)

We will meet and start this ride from Mike's and proceed to climb a mixture fire road and single track totaling over 3000 feet of elevation gain. After a 5 mile climb we get to the top of Crest Mountain and the Crest Ridge Ecological Preserve(CREP). Over the last couple of years San Diego Mountain Bike Association(SDMBA) and the International Mountain Bike Association(IMBA) have spent thousands of man hours building trails, with a primary focus in mind, Mountain Bikers. The trails here have plenty of flow with tons of fun and challenging technical sections to keep you honest. We will have a quick Devotional from one of our leaders and then continue over some more east county foothills with great views of: El Cajon Mountain, Lake Jennings and even the Ocean(If its clear). We then head back the way we came right into Mike's backyard.
This ride will be about 16-18 miles but the kicker here is the 3000 feet of climbing, because of this, we feel this ride to be appropriate ONLY for Strong Intermediate/Advanced Cross Country Riders. Bring at least a bottle of water but there will be a couple of opportunities to fill up along the way. Do bring some ride food, i.e. (Energy Gel/Bars/Snacks) we will be burning though those calories quickly as we climb.

What to bring:
1. Helmet
2. Gloves
3. Water
4. Prayer
