ECC (East Lake Community Church has invited us to an Intermediate / Advanced Mountain Bike Group ride - San Juan Trail 2-25-2012
I'm putting this invite out early so that you can reserve the date on your calendar. If you’re an intermediate mountain biker, you are going to LOVE this ride. We'll be traveling up to San Juan Capistrano in Orange County.
The trail head is about a 1-1/4 hrs north from the I-8 / I-5 interchange, off Rt. 74 Ortega Highway.
The ride is just shy of 20 miles, 2000+ elevation gain total with an interesting start up a series of 15 switchbacks that get you up several hundred feet fairly quick, HOWEVER, the grade is reasonable and an intermediate rider will not have any problems doing this.
Here's the ride:

Since a 'Forest Adventure Pass' for the day is required, it makes sense to commute, so as soon as we confirm the number of riders, we'll make travel arrangements. Forest Adventure Passes cost $5 a day and can be purchased in advance at Forest Adventure Pass
