We encourage you to set up an automated giving schedule to have your “first fruits” go to the Lord every time. Our online giving portal lets you easily set up a recurring gift via your debit card, credit card, or checking account.
Give via Mobile App
Give on the Rock Church mobile app. It is connected to your online giving account, so all you have to do is click Give, anytime, anywhere. The mobile app is available for Android and iOS devices.
Give via Check
Checks can be made payable to “Rock Church” and dropped off at any campus, or mailed to: Rock Church, 2277 Rosecrans Street, San Diego, CA 92106
Gift of Stocks & Mutual Funds
Giving appreciated assets – such as stock – often allows you to maximize a gift. Typically, you can receive a tax deduction for the value of the stock on the day it was given, regardless of the cash basis (original purchase price) of the stock. Capital gains taxes are avoided.
Gift of Real Estate
Under certain circumstances, the Rock accepts gifts of Real Estate. Donating appreciated Real Estate can afford you significant tax advantages while allowing a substantial gift to the Church that avoids capital gains taxes.
Giving a Used Vehicle or Boat
To donate your used vehicle or boat, please call us. The Rock uses a third-party company to sell the vehicle or boat at auction and the proceeds are then returned to the Church. Paperwork to receive a tax deduction for the vehicle will be compiled for you.
Setting up a well-designed estate plan may protect your loved ones from expensive probate taxes, allowing you to use the savings to leave a legacy gift for the Church. The Rock partners with Financial Planning Ministries to provide free estate planning services to members of the Church.
Giving of Business Interest
If you run a business, you may be able to donate a non-voting interest, receive a substantial tax deduction and still maintain management oversight. Or, if you are selling a business, there are strategies that may allow you to maximize your impact for charity.
Make a Tax-Free IRA Gift to the Rock
If you are 70 1⁄2 or older, you may now instruct your IRA custodian to transfer any amount up to $10,000 directly to the Rock Church. This distribution would not be included in your taxable income (but could fulfill any required minimum distribution requirements) and would not produce an income tax deduction.
God is the ultimate giver who gave the most precious gift imaginable - His Son Jesus - to die on the cross for our sins. Our lives are transformed by the gospel of Christ. When we learn to give generously, it changes us, making us more like our generous Creator.
The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing is giving the first ten percent of our income back to God. The Bible says that everything we have comes from Him, so tithing is actually returning to God what belongs to Him. When we tithe, we are putting God first in our lives and trusting Him to provide for all of our needs. An offering is anything we give beyond the 10%.
It takes financial resources to accomplish the work God has called us to do. Our obedient tithes and generous offerings enable the Rock to fulfill its mission to Save, Equip, and Send. Our giving funds the daily operations of the church, fuels special ALL IN projects, and supports the many core and outreach ministries.
