The Art of War
Tommy Moseley - April 2, 2006

Message Recap

Actually we have three enemies; the Devil, the world and ourselves.

And like it or not, we are all in a constant battle. We need to know our opponents, especially Satan; his weapons and his game plan.

The Devil is an active enemy to be defensive against according to 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

And we are the ones that the Devil wants to devour.

Having a Game Plan

Pastor Tommy Moseley (who filled in for Miles McPherson this week) had an old boxing term: "There is no substitute for roadwork.: Roadwork for a boxer is time in the gym preparing for the big fight. Training time. A time to discipline oneself and one's flesh.

We as Christians have to do the same with our spiritual being and discipline our spirits in the constant war with the Devil. We too can …overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of [our] testimony… Revelations 12:11

We also need to have a game plan to deflect the assaults by this fallen angel. A game plan should include daily study and good, spiritual fellowship.

2 Kings 6:14-19 shows Elisha praying to the Lord to win an unwinable battle, and yet Elisha was victorious and just one example of how God is on our side and always has our back.

This Message
