This weekend Pastor Miles McPherson gave us a recap of the events of the past week of Southern California fires. Our volunteers had an amazing opportunity to show God’s love and compassion when the Rock opened its doors as an evacuation center for 344 people who were displaced from their homes. In the beginning, we had nothing to offer but shelter, but soon donations and volunteers began to show up by the truckload and God provided for all who sought refuge here.

There is always the possibility for catastrophic events that leave a wake of need in the community. Ask God how He can use you to make a difference in the midst of someone’s crisis, be it through prayer or practical assistance.
