ROCK SY Med Ministry Team Meeting Highlights

Hi Team, here are notes from our team meeting on Saturday 6/20/2015:

  • Our own John Franco presented and went through the Rock SY Medical Ministry's mission, which is: Rock MD provides medical support through prayer, education, and community outreach as well as spiritual healing through our heavenly Father. Our goal is to cultivate, assist, nurture individuals, families and seniors by offering preventive wellness education, health screenings, medical resources and Medicare & insurance solutions.
  • He also walked us through the Rock SY Medical Ministry's website, which he encourages everyone to be familiar with: http://www.sdrock.com/ministries/medical/ Some important info you can find there are:
    • Information on the Haiti Medical Mission Trips - for those who are in the medical field and have been interested in serving overseas on short-term missions tips using their medical skills and knowledge.
    • Healthcare Resources - which includes a PDF that lists every medical clinic in CA that serves those who are undocumented and uninsured.
    • Medicare 101 classes & Medicare Choices - where you have the opportunity to learn about the changes in Medicare law, which changes on an annual basis.
    • Most importantly the Prayer Requests page! We want everyone (not just Med ministry team) to know about this page, as many are in need for prayer but do not know who they can go to.
  • A large part of this ministry is prayer - to walk in our authority to pray for healing. We were reminded that although there are those who are spiritually gifted in the area of healing (where they see miraculous healings in greater frequency) - all of us are nonetheless free to pray for healing regardless of our gifting. For it is not us, but it is God who heals.
  • Another reminder is that this is a spiritual battle! Oftentimes we need to cast out spirits of infirmity, before healing can take place.
  • Confession of sin is also important for physical healing to take place - oftentimes, it is unforgiveness that can be rooted deep in a person that is linked to illness. We must allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what needs to be confessed.
  • We are reminded of James 5:15 "...the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.." and Ephesians 6:16"...take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."  -  this is faith that heals.
  • With these things in mind, we are envisioning a team large enough where if there is someone in need of prayer, team members living within the vicinity can be called on to promptly attend and pray for them.
