Big Question, Quotes, and Characters
What is your one BIG question from this episode? (What captured your imagination most, and what would you ask God about the events portrayed?)
What quote from this episode was the most meaningful/impactful to you? Why?
Which characters stood out to you most? Which were most interesting? Most moving?
Episode Questions
1. Since their childhood, Jesus' disciples had practiced the Passover celebrating freed from slavery in Egypt. Jesus completely changed the meaning of this tradition by saying it was to celebrate His sacrifice for humanity. What do you think was going through the minds of the disciples when they heard all of this new information? Do you think they understood all of its meaning or do you think that came later? (Mark 14:22-24)
2. In Jesus teaching about the vine, what does Jesus represent and what do His followers represent? What did Jesus teach about the purpose of pruning? When the Father is pruning a Christian, does that mean He's displeased with them? Do all Christians go through seasons of pruning? Is this an enjoyable process? (John 15:1-5)
3. How was God at work in Judas? Was his situation similar to that of Pharoah when God hardened Pharoah 's heart and he refused to let the people go?
4. Why do you think Jesus is able to treat Judas with love the way He does at the table of the Passover Feast?
5. Rabbi Yussef makes the statement that " Nobody was ready for Jesus." How do we still find ourselves not being ready for Jesus today?
6. Nicodemus tells Rabbi Yussef that if they speak up too fervently for Jesus no one in the Sanhedrin will listen to them. How does this advice resonate with the scriptures to go into all the world and preach the gospel?
