Gospel Line Dance Ministry Meeting

Welcome to the Gospel Line Dance Ministry! We are meeting at the Point Loma Campus.

1st Floor, Room 144 (behind the community room)

After you enter the lobby, walk past the elevators and the community room, go through the double doors on your right, and walk all the way down the walkway almost to the end. Room 144 will be on your right.

Study (6:00pm-7:00pm) and line dancing (7:00pm-8:00pm).

During our study time, we will study and discuss The Sermon on the Mount (discussion questions below). During our line dancing time, we will learn easy beginner level line dances.

SERMON ON THE MOUNT STUDY - UNEXPECTED  BLESSINGS

Read: Matthew 5:1-12

Group Discussion: How would you define the word "blessed"?

Personal Refection: Who do you normally consider to be blessed or fortunate?

1. How does our normal description of the blessed or fortunate person compare with those Jesus considers blessed (vv. 1-12)?

2. Those who mourn feel sorrow not only for their own sin but also for the sin they see around them. What have you heard in the news lately that causes you to mourn?

3. How do you think those who mourn will be comforted (v.4)?

4. From the world's point of view, why is it surprising that the meek will inherit the earth?

5. Biblical righteousness has three aspects: legal, moral, and social. What does it mean to hunger and thirst for each of these?

6. Jesus says the merciful will be shown mercy (v.7). Why do you think our treatment of others will affect God's treatment of us?

7. How can we be peacemakers (v.9) in our homes, in our churches, and in society?
