Dental Care for Women in Rehabilative Programs

What We Offer

What We Offer

Inspire Smiles works with women in rehabilitative programs to help them restore their smiles. This is important because a smile can completely change someone’s confidence and even the ways that other people treat them.

TMJ services are extremely valuable for many women in rehabilitative programs, but that’s just one of the many options they have. Here are just a few of the other options available to them:

Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are custom-made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. They are used to improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, poorly shaped, or have gaps between them.

Veneers are bonded to the tooth using special dental cement and can be used to change the color, shape, and size of a tooth.

Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry option because they can create a natural-looking smile and are relatively conservative, meaning that less tooth structure is removed compared to other options, such as crowns. They are a permanent solution and typically require the removal of some tooth structure and permanent bonding.

Crowns

A dental crown, also known as a cap, is a custom-made covering that fits over the entire surface of a tooth. Crowns are used to strengthen a tooth that has been damaged by decay, injury, or a large filling.

They can also be used to improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, poorly shaped, or have gaps between them.

Crowns are made from a variety of materials, including porcelain, metal, and ceramic. The choice of material will depend on the location of the tooth and the patient's esthetic preferences.

They are typically cemented onto existing teeth, so they are a permanent solution that involves removing some of the tooth structure to accommodate the crown.

Crowns can also be used to anchor a dental bridge in place, support a large filling when there isn't enough tooth remaining, or protect a weak tooth from fracturing.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a popular orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth. Instead of traditional metal braces, Invisalign uses a series of custom-made aligners that are made from clear, medical-grade plastic. These aligners are designed to gradually move the teeth into their correct position over time. The aligners are worn for about 20-22 hours a day, with the exception of eating and brushing. They are changed out every two weeks for the next set of aligners, which will continue the teeth-straightening process. Invisalign is popular because it is virtually invisible, making it a cosmetic option for adults who are self-conscious about traditional metal braces. The treatment time for Invisalign varies depending on the individual case and the severity of the problem, but it is typically 12-18 months.

And More

When someone comes to Inspire Smiles as part of this program, the dentist sits down with them to understand what their needs are. Along with an examination, Dr. Elona will take the time to speak with them and understand any concerns they have.

At the end of the day, the goal is to break the ring of trafficking and exploitation in the San Diego community.  We inspire survivors in the pursuit of leading fulfilling and purpose-driven lives by providing compassionate dental care free of charge.

Something as simple as a smile can impact someone’s ability to get a job, friends, and a more stable life.

That’s why we encourage you to give today to help this program help survivors.
