Dialed In

Often we hear of a good spot that is going off and wonder should we go try it and sometimes we travel outside of our favorite spots and give it shot. These risks of trying a new spot without any tips from the locals can be exciting and at the same time frustrating. Which direction is the swell coming from? Where exactly does the reef/sand bar start and end? Is it better at low or high tide? Should I dawn patrol this break? What does it do here with an offshore wind? All these are valid questions and require/deserve quality time answering in order to get the break dialed in.

Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP)

The life of a Christ follower requires/deserves quality time investing study, memorizing, reading, praying, fasting and yes even sharing. If our hearts desire is to be like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ then our time should be spent as He spent His time…

But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15 (AMP)

He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you. John 15:3 (TLB)

Do you want to get your life dialed in? Or are you just content staying in your own little part of the world.

Matthew 10:7-10 (MSG)

5-8 Jesus sent his twelve harvest hands out with this charge:

“Don’t begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don’t try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. You have been treated generously, so live generously.

9-10 “Don’t think you have to put on a fund-raising campaign before you start. You don’t need a lot of equipment. You are the equipment, and all you need to keep that going is three meals a day. Travel light.

Don’t be scared, be bold! Do you know who you are? I do, you are a child of the King! God has epic plans for your life…

Be blessed,

Mahalo-out
