Come Paint, Create & Collaborate #RelationshipGoals!
We will be painting art that illustrates the relationship goals series :D
Sunday 4/2 & Sunday 4/9
Time: 2PM-4:30PM
Place: Rock Church Point Loma RM 353 (on the third floor).
Ideally for this series, attend the 12PM service, take notes, and write ideas
of what you could paint for the painting. Maybe a scripture will stand out,
maybe an image will come to you. I will be leading the class with
all types of mediums of art and helping you with your painting.
At the end of our series, I am going to request that we be allowed to
hang up our art inside the main lobby. The walls look like they are
begging for some paintings of the sermons, what do you think? ;)
WHAT TO BRING
Journals: Sketchbooks, drawing pads, paper with no lines to sketch your ideas.
Pencils: Drawing pencils in different sizes and thicknesses. Remember erasers too!
Paints: Watercolor paints, Watercolor pencils, Acrylic Paint, Oil Paint, Oil Pastels
Brushes: Each medium requires specific kinds of brushes. Bring small fine point
brushes for details, all the way up to big thick brushes for background.
Cleaner: Water and soap works for acrylics and watercolors. For oils bring turpentine
and mason jars with lids! Stinky! No-smell turpentine, no-smell oil paint thinner or
no-smell mineral spirits are perfect.
Paper Towels: Rags, towels, and paper towels for clean up.
Mason Jars: Holds pencils, cleaners, brushes and more.
Flow Mediums: For watercolor (gum arabic, watercolor medium) oil paint (gesso), acrylic (acrylic mediums)
Canvas of Choice: Wood, canvas, watercolor paper, handmade paper
Glitters: Ira-descents, sparkles, stars, hearts, stickers, anything else fun you
would like to experiment with.
I have a stack of oils, acrylics, brushes, rags, and towels to bring from
my own collection to share. Donations will be used to order more art supplies.
Please bring your own supplies and if you don't have enough then you are free
to use the ministries. Email me with what you need help with and I am
happy to provide :)
